Andrew is from Scotland. And when he stood on the rolling hills of Mount Tamalpais and looked out over Marin, he said it reminded him of home.
That might be the best thing anyone has ever said on one of my shoots.

There’s a reason Mount Tam feels different from every other location in the Bay Area. The hills roll the way hills are supposed to — open and wide, with that particular golden quality the light gets in the late afternoon. It doesn’t feel like California showing off. It feels quiet, and ancient, and real.
For a Scottish boy who grew up with landscapes like that, it probably felt like a small miracle to find it an hour from San Francisco.

These two found each other on Bumble — which, honestly, is very Bay Area of them. What came out of it is anything but ordinary.
Grace and Andrew are getting married this October at SF City Hall, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Andrew will be wearing a kilt. I can hardly wait.
Their engagement session on Mount Tam felt like a perfect preview of what that day will be — warm, easy, completely themselves. The kind of couple who don’t need much direction because they’re just genuinely happy to be together. The hills did the rest.

Mount Tam offers some of the most beautiful open landscape in the Bay Area — rolling golden hills, sweeping views of Marin and the Bay, and light that feels like it was made for photography. If you want something that feels expansive and natural rather than manicured, this is the location.
It’s one hour from San Francisco and feels like another world entirely. Andrew would probably say it feels like Scotland.

"Rose is a delight to work with! She had a variety of location options for us to choose from and helped my husband and I feel comfortable during our session. Us feeling natural led to beautiful, natural photos. We have worked with Rose on multiple sessions and will continue to in the future!"
