If you want to know what Napa Valley wedding photography can look like at its best, this styled shoot at Chateau St. John is a pretty good place to start.

The estate sits in the heart of wine country with vineyard views, sprawling lawns, and the kind of warm California light that makes everything look effortless. We brought in lush florals — pink ranunculus, tulips, garden roses, spilling over the tables in that abundant, just-picked way that Napa does better than anywhere — and let the setting do the rest.

The Details

The tablescape was the standout. A curved table on the lawn, seen from above, draped in cream linen with cascading florals down the center. Up close, the place settings were delicate and considered — every detail intentional. The sweetheart table was surrounded by an abundance of blush and white roses against the backdrop of the vineyards.

For the portraits, the estate’s gardens and architecture gave us endless options. Stone walls, manicured hedges, dappled shade — it’s the kind of location where you could point the camera in any direction and get something beautiful.

Couples choose Napa Valley for a reason. The light is soft and warm, especially in the late afternoon when it turns golden across the vines. The venues have scale and character that you can’t manufacture.
