Albert + Emilie | Kohl Mansion Wedding

Some weddings are beautiful because everything is big — the venue, the guest count, the production. Albert and Emilie’s wedding at Kohl Mansion was beautiful for the opposite reason. It was intimate, considered, and completely intentional in every detail.

The kind of wedding where you can tell exactly who the couple is just by looking at the table settings.

The Details

Emilie’s bouquet stopped me. Café au lait dahlias, white pompom dahlias, calla lilies, and amaranthus trailing down — all in a palette of cream, blush, and warm caramel. She wore a simple strapless gown and a pearl necklace, and the combination was exactly right: understated elegance that let the flowers speak.

The reception tables were candlelit, with white dahlia centerpieces and the most unexpected table numbers I’ve seen — hand-illustrated stained glass arches, each one a small work of art. Details like that don’t happen by accident. They happen when a couple genuinely cares about the experience they’re creating for their guests.

The food was extraordinary. I don’t always notice the food at weddings, but this one was impossible to ignore — the kind of menu that makes guests linger at the table.

Kohl Mansion

Kohl Mansion sits in Burlingame on the San Francisco Peninsula — a Tudor Revival estate built in the early 1900s, with the kind of architecture that makes every photograph feel like it belongs in a magazine. Dark wood, arched doorways, stained glass windows. It’s a venue that has its own gravity, and Albert and Emilie leaned into it completely.

If you’re planning a Peninsula wedding and want something that feels genuinely historic and refined — not manufactured elegance, but the real thing — Kohl Mansion belongs on your list.
