The Flood Mansion

Built in 1915 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the James Leary Flood Mansion is one of San Francisco’s most storied private event venues. The Italianate architecture, the grand staircase, the ornate interiors — it’s a space that doesn’t need much decoration because it is the decoration.

For couples who want a San Francisco wedding that feels genuinely historic and refined — not a hotel ballroom dressed up to look that way — the Flood Mansion is in a category of its own. It accommodates intimate gatherings beautifully, and 40 guests felt perfectly scaled to the space.

The Wedding Day

May in San Francisco means the fog hasn’t quite settled in yet, and the light in the Flood Mansion that evening was extraordinary — soft and golden, filtering through tall windows onto white florals and candlelight.

Olga and Gordon’s ceremony was traditional and meaningful — the kind that feels weightless because everything in the room is exactly right. Guests were seated close, the way intimate weddings allow, and you could feel the emotion moving through the room.

The reception that followed was a masterclass in elegant simplicity. One long table — the kind that brings everyone together rather than scattering them across a room — was lined end to end with lush white and green arrangements. Greenery spilled across white linen.
